The SC Villa forward, who has played a pivotal role with his ten league goals as the record league champions propelled to the summit of the league, has stressed that his target is to win the golden boot this season.
As the StarTimes Uganda Premier League hits its final bend, players like Charles Bbale continue to chase targets they'd want to accomplish by the end of the season.
The SC Villa forward, who has played a pivotal role with his ten league goals as the record league champions propelled to the summit of the league, has stressed that his target is to win the golden boot this season.
"I want to win the top scorers award, I am a goal behind Allan Kayiwa (top scorer), but I promise you that by the end of the season, I will be the top scorer," Bbale told Pulse Sports.
The lanky forward had a tough start to the season due to injuries but picked himself up and earned a starting berth in Jackson Magera's side.
"Firstly, I am grateful to God, who helped me heal from the injuries and my coaches, who believed in me; that's what motivated me to do better," Bbale noted.
"As for the team, we simply have to win our remaining games before worrying about the teams ahead of us,” he added.
Bbale also expressed his delight after being crowned as the Real Stars Awards footballer of the month for April.
He edged Kawempe Muslim's Shakirah Nyibnagahirwa, now reigning Women's League MVP and NEC's Tony Kiberu; he also addressed his future as a player.
"I am so happy because I am the first Villa player to win this award. It has encouraged me to work harder; it's a great milestone for me.”
"Currently, I am still attached to Villa, but after the season is done, I will see what is next; however, my priority is to play for the Cranes because, after that, I can easily go anywhere.
The in-form forward scored five goals in five games as he helped his side collect nine points from a possible 15.
