Chelsea hold Man City
Following the thrilling encounter and win against Tottenham last weekend, Chelsea came into the game against Man City with plenty of confidence.
However, it was the visitors who got off to a perfect start when Erling Haaland netted from the spot to fire City ahead after a foul from Marc Cucurella.
But Chelsea weathered the early storm to shock the champions with two decisive goals in eight minutes.
Thiago Silva fired the leveller in the 29th minute before Raheem Sterling gave the Blues the lead for the first time against his former club eight minutes later.
Manuel Akanji’s towering header in added time ensured both sides were level at the break in an enthralling clash.
Palmer late show
In the second half, it was City who came out firing again as Haaland sealed his brace to make it 3-2 to City but Chelsea won’t go down without a fight as Nicolas Jackson was in the right place and time to draw Chelsea level again with his sixth goal in seven matches across competitions.
Defensive midfielder Rodri thought he had won it when his heavily deflected effort sailed past Sanchez to give City a 4-3 lead with four minutes to go.
But Chelsea would have the last laugh as Cole Palmer converted from the spot after super-sub Borja was hacked down to force a share of the spoils.
