A supercomputer has predicted where every Premier League team will finish this season with Manchester City tipped for the title and Chelsea expected to finish outside the top four
Manchester City have been awarded overwhelming odds to retain the Premier League title in the 2023/24 season by OPTA’s supercomputer, which predicted where every team in the league would finish.
Manchester City overwhelming favourites for Premier League title
According to the supercomputer, Manchester City are 90.18% likely to win the league, making them overwhelming favourites for the new season.
The Cityzens are predicted to finish with 88 points, one point less than they did last season and 11 points ahead of Arsenal’s projection of 77 points, which should see the Gunners finish second.
Arsenal are second-favourites for the 2023/24 Premier League season, as the Gunners were given a 4.08% chance to finish top of the league table, with Liverpool at 3.75% and Manchester United at 1.07% rounding up the top four favourites.
Chelsea to finish outside top four
Last season’s biggest disappointment, Chelsea, were backed to improve on their shockingly poor 12th-place finish in the league, but will still see themselves outside the top four if the supercomputer’s prediction comes to pass, as they are billed to reach 6th place when the season ends.
At the other end of the table, fairytale new boys Luton Town are expected to go back down to the Championship at the end of the 2023/24 season, as they were given a 62.25% chance of getting relegated from the Premier League this season.
Premier League returnees Sheffield United have also been touted to go back down, as have Bournemouth.
