Chelsea Women hires Sonia Bompastor as new manager
Chelsea Women have hired Sonia Bompastor, as the club's new head coach on a four-year contract.
The 43-year-old former Lyon manager takes the reins from the highly successful Emma Hayes, who stepped down after leading Chelsea to an incredible 14 trophies in her 12 years.
Hayes will now be coaching the USA Women's National Team.
"I'm fully committed to this new challenge," said Bompastor in a Chelsea statement. "I'll give my all to meet the club's ambitions and build upon the incredible work done by Emma Hayes in recent years. Let's start this new adventure"
