Chelsea secured their first win under Interim coach Frank Lampard after defeating Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The Blues are coming into this game from the back of a London Derby defeat to Arsenal at the Emirate on Tuesday and hoping to get back to winning ways against Bournemouth which they did in style.

Chelsea took the lead early on with a goal from Conor Gallagher but the Blues could not hold on as Bournemouth got the equaliser from Matias Vina's strike. The Blues later won the game late in the second half with strikes from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix.

Has it happened

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard made five changes to his side that lost against Arsenal on Tuesday while Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil fielded the same eleven that trashed Leeds United last weekend.

Chelsea started the game with lots of intensity and it paid off in the 9th minute with Conor Gallagher scoring from quite a difficult position as he leaps high to connect with a cross and powers his header inside the right post.

Chelsea’s lead did not last long as Bournemouth pegged the visitors back in the 21st minute as Ryan Christie slipped a pass to Matias Vina on the edge of the box and he found the top right corner with a great effort. The first half came to an end without either team taking the lead.

Chelsea started the second half with more pressure. They got the second goal in the 82nd minute from a resulting free kick that arrived at the feet of Benoit Badiashile inside the box, and he fired a low shot into the middle of the net.

Shortly after, they crowned the second goal with a third after Raheem Sterling put Joao Felix in the clear with just the keeper to beat. He takes his shot early from the edge of the box and scores beautifully into the bottom left corner.

This win is Chelsea’s first win under interim coach Frank Lampard and will look to build from it as the season gradually comes to an end.
