Joao Felix has been angling for a move out of Atletico Madrid since the summer but things seemed to intensify after the World Cup.
Manchester United and Arsenal had looked into the possibility of taking Felix on loan but both teams decided against paying the loan fee.
Chelsea have now completed the signing of one of Europe's most talented players. Joao Felix arriving on loan from Atletico Madrid is the biggest deal so far in the January transfer window.

Graham Potter has added the 23-year-old in a boost to provide goalscoring solutions for his stuttering Blues, who currently sit 10 points off fourth in the Premier League.
“Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge,” Felix said upon joining.
There is no buy option in the deal but both parties will be hoping for an excellent loan spell which could lead to negotiations regarding a permanent transfer in the summer.
