Cole Palmer continues to break records at Chelsea after his latest goal contributions for the Blues against Crystal Palace.

Chelsea's Cole Palmer is in the news again in the Premier League, continuing his impressive run of form with another stellar performance against Crystal Palace.

The young English midfielder has been a standout player for the Blues, consistently delivering crucial assists and contributing to the team's attacking prowess.

Palmer's Record-Breaking Assists

The 22-year-old was at it again as he provided the ammunition for African star Nicolas Jackson to net his second goal of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Palmer has now provided four assists in Chelsea's first three Premier League games of the season, a remarkable feat that puts him in elite company.

Only four players in Premier League history have recorded more assists in a team's opening three matches of a campaign:

Ruel Fox (1994-95)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (2017-18)

Banned footballer Paul Pogba.

Harry Kane (2020-21)

Paul Pogba (2021-22)

All of these players managed five assists, setting a high bar that Palmer is close to matching or potentially surpassing.

Impact Against Crystal Palace

In the match against Palace, Palmer's influence was once again on display. He played a pivotal role in Chelsea's opening goal, receiving the ball from Noni Madueke before setting up Jackson with a precise square pass.

This assist allowed Jackson to slide in and score, marking goals in consecutive matches for the striker. Jackson's goal celebration was particularly poignant as it came on the heels of signing a new nine-year contract with Chelsea, underlining the club's long-term faith in the young forward.

But at the time of this report, the match between Chelsea and Crystal Palace was evenly poised at 1-1. Palace's equaliser came courtesy of a sensational second-half strike from Eberechi Eze, cancelling out Jackson's opener and setting up an exciting finish to the game.
