The Blues star will rival other Premier League prodigies for the prestigious award
Cole Palmer has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award following a stellar debut season at Chelsea.
The England international will compete with several other prominent Premier League players for the prestigious accolade.
Palmer’s remarkable debut season
The 22-year-old’s debut season with Chelsea was nothing short of spectacular as he scored an incredible 22 league goals providing 11 assists as well to register more goal involvements than any other Premier League player in the 2023/24 season.
He famously scored a four-goal haul against Everton in a 6-0 win, where he achieved the fastest-ever 'perfect' Premier League hat-trick.
The England international also scored a sensational hat-trick in a dramatic 4-3 victory over Manchester United and converted a decisive penalty against Manchester City in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Palmer faces tough competition for PFA award
Palmer faces stiff competition from several top talents from last season, including Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, recently transferred to Bayern Munich, and Brighton’s Joao Pedro.
The Chelsea star could also become the third from the Blues to win the award after Scott Parker (2003/04) and Eden Hazard (2013/14).
The winner will be announced on 20 August at the PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester and Palmer will be looking to add this honor to his previous accolades, including the Premier League Young Player of the Year and PFA Fans' Player of the Year awards he won in May.
