Nigeria Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze is set to become the latest Nigerian in Italy as he prepares to compete against good friend Victor Osimhen in the Serie A.
Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze has emerged as a subject of serious transfer target for Milan who are serious about prising the talented winger away from LALIGA.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the San Siro giants are locked in talks with the Yellow Submarine to seal the deal.
Chukwueze to join Osimhen in Italy
According to the Italian journalist, Milan and Villarreal are close to reaching an agreement that will see the Italians pay 20 million euros in transfer fees and add-ons.
He added that both parties are just finalising details on bonuses and clauses.
“AC Milan are getting closer and closer to completing Samuel Chukwueze deal,” he posted on his social media platform, Twitter.
“Discussion on final details/bonuses with Villarreal then it will be sealed,” he added.
Should the move happen, Chukwueze will swap Spain for Italy where he will go head-to-head with his good friend, Osimhen.
The 24-year-old and the Napoli hero have been friends since their days as Nigeria youth internationals and have maintained that friendship at the senior level.
However, a move to Milan for Chukwueze will see him face his friend and his team, Napoli, who are the defending champions of the Serie A.
Both Chukwueze and Osimhen proved decisive for their respective clubs last season.
While Chukwueze enjoyed his most productive season with the Submarine, Osimhen became a hero in Naples after leading Napoli to a historic Serie A title.
