Gor Mahia's 'coronation' as Kenyan champions is days away as Chunkz lands in Kenya with Beta Squad sparking excitement.

A famous British entertainment group the Beta Squad arrived in Nairobi on Thursday morning stirring excitement and curiosity among fans and followers.

The group, composed of five English YouTubers—KingKennyTv, Niko Omilana, Chunkz, Aj Shabeel, and Sharky—has made a name for themselves with their engaging content and dynamic personalities.

Details about their Kenyan visit remain shrouded in mystery. Speculation is rife: Are they filming a new project? Collaborating with local artists? Attending the FKF Premier League match between Gor Mahia and Muhoroni Youth on Sunday? Or simply soaking in the rich Kenyan culture?

Whatever the reason, their presence in Kenya has set the stage for potential new and exciting developments in the country’s entertainment scene.

For football fans in Kenya, the most familiar face among the Beta Squad is Chunkz.

In February, he raised a staggering $8 million (Ksh 1 billion) through a charity match.

Team Chunkz triumphed over Team AboFlah with a score of 7-5 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, drawing over 30,000 spectators and thousands more online viewers.

"I’m so happy, elated, and the real win was to try to raise enough money for charity," Chunkz told The National.

"But of course, I really did want to win the football match, and we managed to leave with the win, so I'm very, very happy."

This victory was particularly sweet for Chunkz, whose real name is Amin Mohamed.

"I finally won one. I've lost the other six," he added. The funds raised will support educational programs in Mali, Rwanda, Tanzania, Pakistan, Palestine, and Sudan through the Education Above All Foundation.

Chunkz, 28, is a Somali-British YouTuber and entertainer with over three million YouTube subscribers and 4.4 million Instagram followers.

His influence and reach are significant, making his involvement in charity work even more impactful. Fellow captain AboFlah, residing in Kuwait, also boasts a massive following with over nine million Instagram followers and 37.2 million YouTube subscribers.

The charity match featured an impressive lineup of football legends, including World Cup winners David Villa (Spain) and Roberto Carlos (Brazil), Chelsea heroes Didier Drogba, Eden Hazard, and Claude Makelele, and 2007 Ballon d'Or winner Kaka.

Former Premier League managers Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte took on the roles of team managers, adding to the event’s prestige.

Reflecting on the event, Chunkz expressed his vision for the future: "We’re planning on trying to make it an annual thing. This is the first event that we've had, I think, for the region in general, where influencers and legends played. So we had a lot of mistakes, but it's something that we're going to learn from and hopefully make it even better next year."

Chunkz has participated in several charity matches before, including Soccer Aid and events with the Sidemen, another popular YouTube group.

Just days before Gor Mahia’s coronation as Kenyan champions, the timing of Chunkz and the Beta Squad’s visit has fueled hopes that Chunkz might consider supporting a local football project.

While his mission in Nairobi remains unknown the potential impact of his presence is undeniable.
