Chelsea determined to hold on to defender despite Liverpool interest
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea's young defender this summer.
In an interview with Liverpoolfc.com, he said, "Everybody knows we struggled a little bit this season in the away games and then if you play a game like this tonight, this is the way it should feel every game. But it's a good step in the right direction.
"Especially in away games, the first goal is really important to get your spirit even higher and maybe [get] the crowd of the opponent a little bit down. We did it well and after we scored another one, a beautiful goal from Mo. In the second half, we just went for it and it worked out well.
"We won this game, it was a good game, but now we have to look forward and we have to win the next game."
Jota deserves the praise says Gakpo
Jota ended a long wait for a goal by helping Salah score his first of the game and then scored himself with a pair of well-placed finishes.
Still speaking, he said, "I think everybody was really happy for [Jota], He deserved it. He's working really hard in every game when he plays for the team. Eventually he got the two goals, so I'm really happy for him.
"I think we have a lot of options in the front three positions and I think it makes it even better for us to show [in] every game what you can do.
"Eventually, you have to do it together. So I think if we combine our strengths together, we have a good front three, or front six because we have a lot of options."
