In-form Cole Palmer has once again shown why he is the Blues' best player, single-handedly sparing Chelsea's blushes against Brighton.

Chelsea magician Cole Palmer is a man in red-hot form after bagging four goals in the first half against Brighton.

The former Manchester City midfielder came to Chelsea’s rescue after the Blues fell behind at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton took advantage of a mixup in the box; Georginio Rutter headed the Seagulls in front after Sanchez failed to claim a ball he rushed out for.

Cole Palmer stepped up and scored four goals for Chelsea in just 40 minutes, becoming the first Premier League player to attain such feat in the competition’s history.

Prior to his four first-half goals, Cole Palmer hit the foot of the post when he was played through on goal by Enzo Fernandez. Minutes later he had a goal ruled out for offside, but the Ballon d'Or nominee wasn't to be denied.

The Cole Palmer show – How it happened

Palmer’s first strike was a delightful finish after Nicolas Jackson unselfishly played the Englishman through on goal.

The 22-year-old bagged his second goal from the penalty spot after Jadon Sancho was brought down.  Up stepped Cole Palmer and sent goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen the wrong way.

His spot-kick conversion of 10 out of 10 has helped him join an exclusive list of some of the best penalty-takers in Premier League history.

Cole Palmer was not yet down, and ten minutes after the half-hour mark, Chelsea had a free kick just outside the Brighton 18-yard box.

The PFA young player of the year showed his quality again, producing an incredible strike over the Brighton wall, and Bart Verbruggen could only get fingertips to it but was unable to keep it out.
