“As one of the best local clubs that are heavily entrenched, even with government support, I believe we should not be looking at benchmarking with local tournaments.
“Our target is going to be much higher and our vision is to raise the bar to have that vibrant club that is going to compete favourably at the continental stage.”
KCCA are set to face Libya’s Abu Salem in a two-legged affair to determine whether they will return to the CAF Confederation Cup.

First, he was happy with the result and bits of his team's performance but did not like the idea of being in a third-place playoff when he could have been in the final fighting for gold.
“I’m inheriting a club that is already participating at continental level. What is important now is to know what are the low hanging fruits.
“The little research I have done is that in the next 15 days we have a match, among the low hanging fruits is to concentrate our attention now on delivering at that continental stage. We must go to the group stages. We must go to the money stage.”
Sserunjogi replaces Martin Ssekajja and will be tasked with overseeing a team that has recently invested to ship in foreign talent in a bid to get back to winning ways.

“My strategy is very simple. I wish to have an all inclusive and participatory approach to the game of football.
“I want to enhance communication and the relationship between the fans and the executive. We need to see a participatory approach where the fans can come in and where the executive can come in to boost the club, raise revenue for the club and lastly, pull off the stadium.”
KCCA’s biggest challenge at the moment is having to play continental home games away from home, with the MTN Omondi Stadium unable to meet the minimum required standards.
Overseeing the project to its completion is one of Sserunjogi’s major targets.
“That stadium is going to speak volumes for us.

“I’m inheriting a club that’s already taken off. My predecessors have done pretty a good job. I’m inheriting a club that has good pretty good support from some financial donors, a club that has got a new coach.”
Having defeated SC Villa 3-2 to finish third in the FUFA Super 8 Tournament, the Kasasiro Boys now have their attention turned to Abu Salem, with the first leg expected to be played on September 17 in Cairo, Egypt.
