Fufa has omitted referee Deogratius Opio from the list of officials to handle the 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League fixtures.

The referee was suspended in May alongside George Nkurunziza for three months due to a match-fixing scandal, but the federation has not communicated his fate after the time elapsed.

Last week, Fufa cracked the whip and banned Nkurunziza for ten years after finding him guilty of violating the codes.

Opio was not listed among the 20 centre referees who will be handling the league this coming season.
