The game between Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor took an awkward turn in the first half after a controversial call was made by the referee.

Galatasaray entered the game looking to extend its winning streak following its 4-1 Cup win against Boluspor.

However, they were unable to finish the game against Adana. The visitors opted to withdraw from the game, which was still 1-0.

As it happened

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen made the starting lineup for Galatasaray and was paired in attack alongside new signing Alvaro Morata.

The game went underway, with the host gaining most of the possession and creating chances for the opening goal.

Then, in the 12th minute of the game, the referee awarded a penalty to the home side after Dries Mertens was fouled in the box. New signing Morata took the ball and slotted it past the goalkeeper for the opening goal.

According to Fotomaç, the visitors were not having it anymore as they immediately walked off the pitch, abandoning the game.

The game was left at 1-0 in favour of Galatasaray, who had their players still on the pitch doing some warmup.
