The reigning champions of the FUFA Women Super League, She Corporate WFC, are enduring a brutal campaign.
Corporate can no longer defend their crown; they are fifth on the 10-team log with 14 points, 19 points behind leaders Kampala Queens WFC who are on 33 points with seven games to go until the end of the season.
"We acknowledge that it has been a tough season for us in the league," Corporate head coach Hassan Issa told Pulse Sports.
"But from the remaining games, we shall try to improve our performance and finish in a better position," he added.
The Nakawa-based side is now focused on the FUFA Women's Cup and had a strong start thanks to a 5-1 victory over Dynamic SS Jjeza WFC on Saturday.
"We want to try our level best to win the Uganda Cup, and I know it will not be an easy tournament all through because most of the top teams are still in."
Issa added: "We started on a serious note against Jjeza, and we shall not undermine any team, and that will remain our mentality throughout the rest of the competition."
Phoebe Banura, Susan Atim, Noeline Namiiro, Anita Arinda, and Cissy Nakate scored five goals as Corporate reached the Round of 16.
