Ronaldo is set for one final mega-payday as he pitches his tent with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is finally set to return to club football after signing a lucrative €200 million per year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

The move which will see Ronaldo become the highest-paid footballer in the World is set to run for two years with the Portuguese star man expected to feature in the Saudi Pro League alongside notable names like Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar and ex-Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.

Mindboggling numbers behind Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr

The deal means that Ronaldo, 37, who sadly departed the 2022 World Cup at the quarter-final stage with only one goal, now ends the year on a joyous note with earnings believed to be around €3.5m every week while with Al Nassr.

Ronaldo’s move comes just months after having his Manchester United contract terminated after his tell-all interview with Piers Morgan was deemed to be in bad faith.

Goodbye to Mr. UCL

Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia means that he now says a final goodbye to top-level European football and has called time on his UEFA Champions League ambition.

He will leave the competition as its greatest-ever player with five trophies, 142 goals, and 42 assists. All of which are competition records.

Media sources in Saudi Arabia were first to pick up the official confirmation of the mega-deal and their reports have now been corroborated by sources in Spain as well.

History in the making

In a statement confirming the deal via their Twitter account, Al-Nassr were keen to express the importance of Ronaldo’s signing to the club and the whole of Saudi Arabia as well.
