Anyembe could not help Viborg get a victory against Velje, while Timothy Ouma flattered to deceive playing in a deeper role for Elfsborg in Sweden.
Harambee Stars defender Daniel Anyembe played the entire match as Viborg fell short to Velje BK 1-0 in a Danish SuperLiga relegation playoff pool match that took place on Sunday afternoon.
Anyembe, who has now been clocking 90 minutes under his belt every match since fully recovering from injury, has looked the part throughout, bombing up and down the right flank to try and make things happen for his team, but it was not to be as they suffered their first defeat in five games.
The Kenyan defender has featured in 21 league games this season. He has scored once and registered two assists, and will be hopeful of adding more in the three games of the season left to play.
The match began with an early chance for Viborg's Anosike Ementa, who narrowly missed the target with a lob over Velje's goalkeeper. However, it was Velje who capitalized first, as Musa Juwara scored with a well-placed shot past Viborg's keeper, Magnus Westergaard.
Despite Velje's lead, Viborg fought back before halftime, with Isak Jensen equalizing after Serginho's cross found him unmarked at the back post. The second half saw Viborg pushing hard for a go-ahead goal, with Nathan Trott, Velje's goalkeeper, making crucial saves to deny them.
However, Velje ultimately seized the opportunity to take the lead again, with German Onugkha scoring a stunning long-range effort in the 65th minute. Despite Viborg's relentless pressure in the final minutes, including a close chance from Manuel Mbom's pass to Isak Jensen, they couldn't find the equalizer.

Odada's AaB suffered yet another defeat, putting their Danish SuperLiga promotion hopes in jeopardy.
The final whistle signaled Viborg's first defeat in the Qualification Game, leaving them to regroup. They still remain top of the relegation playoff pool on 37 points.
In Sweden, Timothy Ouma could not build on from his solid display against Malmo as Elfsborg lost 2-0 to Michael Olunga’s former club Djurgaden in an Alsvenskan match that took place on Sunday.
Ouma featured on the right side of a midfield pivot, but generally struggled to influence the game, attempting juts 14 passes in the 63 minutes he was on the pitch.
Goals by Bassard Sabovic and Tobias Guliksen were enough to give the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead, and now Elfsborg will have to show character to respond in order to get their season back on track.
