Inter Miami co-owner and Manchester United icon David Beckham has refused to declare Lionel Messi the greatest of all time despite the close relationship between the two legends.
David Beckham's opinion on soccer carries a lot of weight, thanks to his legendary playing career. He played with and against some of the all-time greats, from Manchester United's 1999 team to Real Madrid alongside Zidane, Ronaldo, and Figo.
With three World Cup tournaments for England and stints at AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and LA Galaxy, Beckham's insights are deeply rooted in experience.
His influence is also vast, especially off the pitch, most notably with his recent move to bring Lionel Messi to Inter Miami.

Beckham refuses to declare Messi the GOAT
Back in 2023, the ex-Man United captain was asked to name the four greatest players of all time, including who he believed was the GOAT.
Beckham refused to outrightly name one player as the GOAT, instead choosing to praise four legends.
“I’m not sure if Messi is the greatest of all time. When you look back at the greats over the years, from Pele to Maradona, and of course, Cristiano and Messi, it’s hard to pick one. But what Leo has achieved is remarkable.
"To cap off his brilliant career with a World Cup win… well, his career isn’t over yet; it will continue for a few more years.
"He’s definitely one of the greatest players of all time,” Beckham said, reflecting on each of the four names he chose."
Messi is an 8-time Ballon d'Or winner, and his international resume has expanded over the past 3 years, winning the Copa America twice and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he was named player of the tournament.
