Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne could play some part in the upcoming game against Leeds United.
Kevin De Bruyne has been unavailable for Manchester City's recent victories against Fulham and West Ham after complaining of “niggles” following the club's crucial victory over title rivals Arsenal last month.
Guardiola provides De Bruyne update
Speaking ahead of the Leeds game, Pep Guardiola said the midfielder had trained well ahead of the weekend and Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.
“He trained yesterday, he trained good,” Guardiola said.
“We will decide after training on Friday.” Asked whether the showdown against Real Madrid next week could be a determining factor in the Belgian's selection, the City boss added:
“Losing just one week or 10 days is not a problem, it’s the same thing that happened with Nathan (Ake). If he’s fit, he will play.
But on his team selection as a whole, he added: “I saw the team was really tired after Fulham and West Ham and I will have to see how the players recover.”
Man City are currently top of the Premier League leading Arsenal by a single point and Guardiola's men could extend that lead to 4 points with a victory over Leeds.
