The Super Eagles star is set for a sensational return to Vicarage Road six months after leaving the club.
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis is in line for a quick return to Watford six months after leaving the club for Nottingham Forest.
Dennis left Watford last summer to sign for Forest on a four-year deal. However, the Nigerian international’s time at the club has not gone according to plan.
Dennis in the wilderness
Since he arrived, Dennis has played just 369 of Premier League football, scoring one goal and recording the same number of assists.
The former Club Brugge man has failed to live up to expectations and has been criticised by Forest’s coaching staff for not playing to instructions.
As a result, the Tricky Tees are reportedly looking to cut their losses and let go of Dennis this January.
Dennis heading back to The Hornets
According to multiple reports, Forest are willing to let Dennis return to Watford in exchange for Senegal international Ismaila Sarr.
However, it remains to be seen if it will be a loan deal or a permanent swap, although Sarr has just 18 months left on his contract at Vicarage Road. The deal suits Dennis perfectly, though, as he has no other option than Watford.
Having played for two clubs this season, Dennis cannot play for another club again, according to FIFA rules. However, a return to Watford will offer him more playing time in the second half of the season.
But should Watford refuse the deal, Dennis may have to wait until the summer before leaving City Ground. Dennis still has three and six months left on his contract at Forest
