Without the missing South Americans, as well as the injured Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado, and with Robert Lewandowski starting on the bench, Barcelona were still able to cruise to a 3-0 win over Osasuna.

Although Lewandowski managed to get on the scoresheet after coming on as a substitute, the bulk of the work had already been done thanks to two first-half goals from Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo.

How it happpened

The match had been rescheduled due to the tragic passing of club doctor Carles Minarro Garcia, with tributes paid before kickoff.

The hosts started fast, as they have done all season, taking the lead inside 11 minutes. Alejandro Balde set up Ferran Torres, who finished at the near post for his eighth league goal of the season.

The second goal came in bizarre fashion after Barcelona earned a penalty after Dani Olmo was fouled by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.

Although Herrera saved the initial spot-kick, an encroachment allowed Olmo a re-take, which he converted.

The only unfortunate moment of the match for Barcelona came when Olmo suffered a muscle injury shortly after his goal and had to be replaced by Fermin Lopez.

Lopez played a key role in Barcelona’s third goal, driving forward before lofting the ball to Robert Lewandowski, who finished clinically for his 23rd league goal, extending his lead in the Pichichi race.

With the win, Barcelona moved three points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, with both teams now having played the same number of matches.
