Kylian Mbappe has come under fire for his disappointing performances at EURO 2024.

France manager Didier Deschamps has defended his captain Kylian Mbappe against criticism of his Euro 2024 performances.

Mbappe, 25, has scored only once in the tournament - a penalty against Poland - with France reaching the semifinals without scoring from open play.

"Don't you think he has already made enough history with what he's done so far? He wants to make even more history." Deschamps emphasized the efforts made to ensure Mbappe's participation, despite a back problem during preparation:

"We did everything we could with him, with the medical staff, to get him to be here. Kylian is here."
