Victor Osimhen returned from injury in the pulsating encounter but his teammate made sure Galatasaray sealed all three points.

Turkish champions Galatasaray edged out Trabzonspor 4-3 in a high-scoring match that showed the attacking depth of the Turkish giants, with a cameo from star forward Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian striker, who recently lost his title as CAF Player of the Year to compatriot Ademola Lookman, had been sidelined due to injury but came on later on to help his teammates fight hard to secure all three points.

The game, held at Rams Park in Istanbul on Monday night, was a rollercoaster of emotions for both teams. Michy Batshuayi emerged as the hero for Galatasaray, scoring crucial late goals that sealed victory for the hosts. 

Despite being without Osimhen, who has been instrumental in their campaign with seven goals and three assists this season, for 75 minutes, Galatasaray demonstrated depth and determination.

Trabzonspor started strong and managed to keep pace with Galatasaray throughout the match. However, Batshuayi's performance proved decisive in the end. 

Following this victory, Galatasaray remain at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table with an impressive record of 13 wins and 2 draws from 15 matches, for a total of 41 points.

In contrast, Trabzonspor sit in the second half of the standings, flirting with relegation after struggling to get only 16 points from their 15 matches.
