Dick's extension cause social media uproar
Unsurprisingly, the announcement went viral on social media, with fans quick to poke fun at the club's rather unfortunate phrasing.
"Solid signing that stiffens the defence. His penetrating runs forward may leave gaping holes but he always comes back into position," quipped one fan, while another joked: "I wish mine could."
"Not gonna lie, I wondered what I was reading at first!" added a third, as the comments section was flooded with amused reactions.
However, others were quick to praise Raith Rovers' social media team, with one fan writing: "Pay rise for Raith Rovers Twitter manager! Brilliant."
Meanwhile, another took a more cheeky approach, commenting: "Best known for his deep penetrating runs from a standing start."
Liam Dick, 28, has been a key player for Raith Rovers since joining the club in 2019. The versatile defender made 47 appearances last season, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
Raith Rovers fans will no doubt be delighted to see one of their star players commit his future to the club, despite the slightly awkward announcement.
It remains to be seen whether the team can build on their strong performance last season and push for promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
