With this achievement under his belt, Dunga is determined to replicate his success with Kataka, as he seeks to guide them back to the top division since their relegation 19 years ago.

Excitement is building among Mbale Heroes supporters as Simon 'Dunga' Dungu prepares to take the reins as the club's head coach once again.

Pulse Sports understands that the club has held advanced talks with the coach, with an announcement expected soon, which could spark hope for a successful campaign in the FUFA Big League.

Dunga is no stranger to Mbale Heroes, having previously led them to the quarter-finals of the prestigious Stanbic Uganda Cup in 2022.

However, he left the club under a dark cloud as he failed to guide them to promotion in the FUFA Big League.

Now, armed with newfound confidence, Dunga returns to Mbale Heroes after achieving promotion with Kiyinda Boys in the previous season.

Kiyinda Boys secured their spot in the FUFA Big League after a thrilling victory over Black Star Masanafu, prevailing with an impressive 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

With this achievement under his belt, Dunga is determined to replicate his success with Mbale Heroes.

The Eastern regional league promotional play-off final witnessed Mbale Heroes triumph over Bukedea Central FC ultimately sealing a convincing 7-0 aggregate win.

Dunga's experience and expertise are invaluable to Mbale Heroes' aspirations.

The seasoned coach has an impressive coaching pedigree, having previously served at Buwekula, Mawokota, Gomba, and Busiro in the Masaza Cup.

Notably, he guided Gomba to victory in the 2017 Masaza Cup and also contributed to Mawokota's triumph in 2013 as an assistant coach under Edward Golola.

In conjunction with Dunga's appointment, Mbale Heroes recently held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elected a new Executive Committee.

Leading the committee is the accomplished city lawyer Andrew Wambi, who assumes the role of club chairman.

Wambi's contributions to the club's ascent to the Big League have been commendable, and his leadership is expected to steer the team towards greater success.

Geoffrey Ojok takes on the role of Vice Chairperson Business, Uthman Mugoya assumes the position of Vice Chairperson Governance, and Badru Chemusto is entrusted with the responsibility of Vice Chairperson Football.
