After Jamaal Lascelles got involved in an aggressive early-morning brawl, Eddie Howe decided to prevent his players from any night outing in the city.

Jamaal Lascelles was involved in a gang fight a few weeks ago after Newcastle's clash with Manchester City.

It was reported that the Newcastle defender was trying to defend his brother from getting hurt during the street fight.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has now ordered his players that they are hereby banned from any night outing.

Eddie Howe backs Lascelles, bans night out

Howe has said Lascelles played the peacemaker in the situation, but he emphasised his worries about his players going out late at night.

According to Mail Sport, a group of at least six individuals accosted the Newcastle captain and allegedly threatened to shoot the 29-year-old defender with a gun.

To avoid the possibility of a repeat, he has reluctantly imposed a nighttime limit on his team's access to Newcastle's downtown.

When asked if his players could no longer enter the area, the manager responded, as reported by Daily Mail, “Unfortunately, probably yes.

“In this day and age with the amount of games we have anyway, I'm not sure that's where we should be as a group of players and staff in the early hours.

“That's just purely with the games and the profile of the players now and what we have this season, so probably you're right, and I'd probably say no.

“It would be nice in theory for us to be in the city centre with our people, but the reality is it's probably not the best place for us to exist late at night.

”We'd prefer our players aren't out in the city centre in the early hours, I think that's natural from my side.

“It's been an intense week, l think you can tell that from my face. I'm robust enough to deal with these moments but the scrutiny is increasing all the time.”

Police are looking into the altercation after being alerted by witnesses to a collision on Newcastle's Westgate Road early on Sunday, August 20.
