The young attacker also opened up about his impressive form since the start of second leg of the season.

Tusker FC striker Lawrence Luvanda has dedicated his goal in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) game against Wazito FC to his late mom.

Eric Otieno had given the reigning champions a deserved lead in the 11th minute, with Luvanda registering an assist before scoring a fine goal after being teed up by Daniel Sakari.

The win was the sixth straight victory for Robert Matano’s charges which placed them on top of the log after leapfrogging Gor Mahia and now hold a slender one point advantage.

“I dedicate the goal to my mom, and I wish she was alive today. Unfortunately, she is not, but I am happy with the goal, and I dedicate it to her,” Luvanda said after the match.

The forward believes the encouragement from his teammates and hard work has contributed to him regaining his scoring touch.

“I feel motivated because I have been working hard since the second leg started, and there are some games I have come in the second half. I also got a chance to start in the Kenya Police game, and performed well.

So this one, I had to score and assist, and I am glad I achieved both. I feel good and motivated since there is motivation from teammates in the dressing room,” he added.

After the win, the Brewers are placed at the top of the table with 54 points from 25 matches played so far this season. They have managed 16 wins, six draws, and three losses, scoring 36 goals and conceding 19.
