Adam Wilson has now earned his second call-up to the national team ahead of their double-header against Cameroon in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Former Newcastle United winger Adam Wilson has expressed his excitement and pride he felt when he first earned a call up to the Harambee Stars ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast last June.
Wilson received a second call up to the Kenya squad ahead of their AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Cameroon on October 11 and 14 on Wednesday.
Wilson, who currently plays for Welsh side The New Saints on loan from Bradford City, is eager to secure his place in the final 25-man squad for the double-header fixtures as Kenya aims to qualify for the tournament in Morocco.

Adam Wilson: What you need to know about the English-born former Newcastle United star who has been called up by Harambee Stars
Who is the former Newcastle United forward that has been drafted into the Harambee Stars squad for their AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Cameroon?
Wilson, who initially earned a call-up in June for Kenya's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Malawi but didn’t make the final squad, is hopeful of making the cut this time.
Reflecting on his time with the national team, Wilson described his trip to Nairobi last summer as memorable and a significant moment in his career.
“That was a great experience this summer. I went out to Nairobi for two weeks and was training with the squad,” Wilson told his club's media in September. “It was nice weather and a change of scenery. I got to see some of my family as well, so it was a good experience.”
Born to a Kenyan mother and English father, Wilson previously represented England at the U18 level but has since committed his senior international future to Kenya.
Despite only visiting the country as a toddler, he shared how much it meant to him and his family to connect with his Kenyan heritage through football.
“It was unbelievable. When I first went, I was two years old, so I could not really remember that much, but going out now, you get to see it properly and yeah, family was really proud of me, so it is a great honour,” Wilson added.
Wilson’s rise in football began at Newcastle United’s academy, where he made 61 appearances before joining The New Saints in September 2022.

'An honour and privilege' -Tusker maestro reacts after receiving maiden Harambee Stars call up ahead of Cameroon escapade
The former Green Comandos midfielder received his first call up to the Harambee Stars squad for their upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifying double-header against Zimbabwe.
During his first season at the Welsh club, he impressed with his attacking prowess, netting seven goals in 22 appearances and playing a key role in the team’s Cymru Premier title victory.
His performances earned him the Supporters' Player of the Season award and caught the attention of League Two club Bradford City, where he signed in 2023.
Though his time at Bradford has seen fewer appearances, Wilson made an instant impact, scoring a dramatic late equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Wrexham last season.
Now, he is focused on representing Kenya on the international stage, with his experience in the UK leagues adding valuable depth to Engin Firat’s Harambee Stars squad.
