Both Wanjau-Smith and Harper used to play with each other for Cribbs, in the ninth tier of English football, but Harper has since broken into the EFL for Exeter in League One.
Harambee Stars prospect Solomon Wanjau-Smith has spoken in glowing terms about Kenyan and current Exeter City left-back Vincent Harper.
Both players used to play together for Cribbs in the ninth tier of English football, but Harper has since broken into the EFL League One, where he has been playing for Exeter after success in the non-leagues.
Harper even earned his maiden call-up for Harambee Stars before they played Russia in Turkey last October, and Wanjau-Smith, who spoke in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports, opened up on a range of topics, including their friendship.

STARS ABROAD Kenyan striker helps minnows Maidstone United continue dream FA Cup run with victory over Stevenage
Wanjau-Smith, who has already declared a willingness to represent Harambee Stars in future, helped inspire Sixth-tier side Maidstone United to a dream victory over Stevenage in the Third Round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Wanjau-Smith has sensationally revealed that the speedy left-back actually used to play as a center forward in his younger days.
“We inspire each other and at the time (at Cribbs) he was actually a striker and now he is a left back. I used to play on the flanks.
“It is a bit of a change for him but he definitely inspires me because I mean for a boy that played at that level to be able to get into League One after doing so well at the Varanama National League is very inspiring.
