The Flying Antelopes are looking to quickly put behind them the shocking loss to regional rivals Abia Warriors later today.
Former NPFL champions Enugu Rangers are motivated and prepared ahead of their week two match in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
This is coming from club captain, Uche John, who spoke ahead of the game against Lobi Stars slated for the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.
Rangers, who are also known as the Flying Antelopes, started their 2023 campaign with a defeat following a 2-1 loss to Abia Warriors in their season's opener last weekend.
However, the 2016 champions are ready to go again and will be guests to Lobi Stars in Jos later today.
Rangers motivated and prepared
Speaking ahead of that crucial game, club skipper, John, who is set to miss the encounter due to an injury, stated that the Antelopes are fully motivated and prepared for the battle ahead.
“We are set for a good game in Jos," John told the Rangers media. "The team is physically and psychologically prepared for the match against Lobi Stars. The motivation is also very high.”
Antelopes face familiar foes
These two are no strangers to each other in the NPFL and will go head-to-head in this Group B tie with both sides looking for their first win.
Both clubs started their season with defeats, with the home side falling to a late 2-1 loss to champions Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
Ahead of the game today, the two sides will look to outwit each other in a bid to put behind them the disappointments from day one.
In terms of their head-to-head battle, the last two games between these clubs have delivered premium entertainment for fans, who will be expecting more of the seasn when they step to the pitch in Jos.
The last two encounters produced a total of 10 goals, with both sides scoring five goals and one win apiece.
However, the Flying Antelopes will be wary of this particular fixture having lost both games in their last two visits.
The last meeting between them ended 2-0 in favour of the home side, with Rangers' last win over the Makurdi Stars coming back in March 19, 2022.
