Enyimba’s cry for help
Nwaiwu’s status became public notice after the NPFL champions Enyimba released a statement about his disappearance on their social media account.
In their official statement, the People’s Elephant noted that the midfield star ‘absconded from the team’ and has been away since September without any official permission.
“Enyimba wishes to inform the general public particularly the clubs in the NPFL about its player, CHIBUIKE NWAIWU, who has absconded from the team,” Enyimba stated. “NWAIWU has been away from the club since September without an official leave nor authorization from the management.”
The club added that the missing midfielder has breached the terms of his contract and will be punished. “By this action, he has breached his contractual obligations to the club and the club shall activate its disciplinary measures against him,” the statement added.

“NWAIWU is a bonafide player of the club as he still has an existing contract and has not been released or freed to join any club.”
