Palmer's first feat came when he confidently converted a penalty to equalise for Chelsea, making it 2-2 after they had trailed by two goals.

The successful spot-kick extended his perfect penalty record in the Premier League to 11 out of 11, equalling Yaya Toure's record for the most penalties scored without a miss.

He then broke another record later in the match, scoring his second penalty of the game and setting a new Premier League record for the most consecutive successful penalties with 12.

This surpassed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's long-standing Chelsea record of 36 goal contributions in a single year, set back in 2001.
