Despite facing injury woes Manchester United still displayed remarkable courage proving their ability to overcome challenges and maintain a strong performance under pressure.

English Premier League giants Manchester United put in an impressive showing to beat Real Betis in a pre-season friendly in San Diego on Thursday morning.

Despite pre-match injury concerns Erik ten Hag’s side delivered a commanding performance to secure the win.

United faced a challenging start as they were hit by a double injury blow before kickoff, with Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund reportedly set to miss three months and six weeks of action, respectively. Despite these setbacks, the Red Devils demonstrated their quality on the field.

Real Betis took an early lead when Rodri outpaced Harry Amass and forced a scrambling save from United’s Tom Heaton, allowing Iker Losada to tap in the opening goal.

However, Manchester United responded swiftly. Amad Diallo, continuing his impressive pre-season form, won a penalty which Marcus Rashford converted just two minutes after Betis’ opener.

Diallo then extended United’s lead with a powerful finish following a superb cross from Amass. The first half was rounded off with a third goal from Casemiro, who capitalized on United’s dominant play.

The second half saw fewer clear-cut chances as both teams made several substitutions. Rashford limped off the field after a challenge from Hector Bellerin, adding a moment of concern for United.

Betis managed to pull one back through Diego Llorente’s header, but despite the late pressure, United held firm to maintain their advantage.

Manchester United's win is a positive outcome for Ten Hag’s squad as they continue their pre-season preparations, demonstrating strength and cohesion despite the injury disruptions.
