Stephen Oladehinde 22:03 - 22.06.2024

Belgium sealed their first victory against Romania in Euro 2024 after losing their first game of the tournament.

Domenico Tedesco’s side came into the game needing a win to get a chance in the next round of the tournament.

Tielemans and Kelvin De Bruyne gave Belgium a 2-0 win against Romania to earn three points in their group.

As it happened

Belgium made four changes after their opening defeat by Slovakia, with former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen and Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans both coming in, as do Arthur Theate and Dodi Lukebakio.

There's just one change for Romania following their 3-0 victory against Ukraine, with winger Valentin Mihaila replacing Florinel Coman.

The second half started with much intensity from Romania but Belgium still looked more dangerous on the attack.

Belgium did not give up and their pressure paid off in the 79th minute. Romania were caught out at the back and Kevin de Bruyne held off Radu Dragusin before firing past Florin Nita.

Romania tried to push for a goal but were unable to convert their chances as the game ended in a 2-0 win for Belgium
