The Euro 2024 qualifying round will kick off on Thursday, March 23, as 53 teams will battle for 20 automatic slots to join hosts Germany. Here are the best picks from this round of games.
The 17th edition of Europe’s top national team competition takes place in Germany next year, and 23 teams will hope to join the host in the 24-team format.
There are 10 groups during qualification, and the top two from each group will automatically qualify for the finals, while the remaining three slots will be decided via the playoffs.
The 12 group winners in Leagues A, B, and C of the 2022–23 Nations League are already guaranteed a playoff spot at the very least in the situation where they fail to finish as one of the top two teams in their group.
If they fail to qualify for the finals, their playoff spot will go to the next-best-ranked team in their Nations League group.

Kazakhstan v Slovenia
Thursday, March 23, 16:00 (GMT+1)
Betting tip: Both teams to score
Odds: 2.10 on Bet9ja
Placing a bet on both teams to score seems like the safest option here, as Kazakhstan have scored in their last three home games and their last two have ended with both teams scoring. For Slovenia, both teams have scored in four of their last five international games.
North Macedonia v Malta
Thursday, March 23, 20:45 (GMT+1)
Betting tip: North Macedonia to win
Odds: 1.33 on Bet9ja
North Macedonia have ended up in the same group as Italy, whom they denied a World Cup ticket, but would kickstart their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with a favorable home fixture against Malta.
The home side are overwhelming favorites in this one and are expected to win without conceding. Malta have won just two of their last ten competitive matches, both against San Marino during the Nations League.
Italy v England
Thursday, March 23, 20:45 (GMT+1)
Betting tip: England to win or draw
Odds: 1.38 on Bet9ja
The Euro 2020 finalists meet again, this time in the qualifying round for Euro 2024. Four of the last five meetings between these teams have ended in draws after 90 minutes.
England had a decent outing at the 2022 World Cup, losing to France in the quarterfinals—a competition Italy failed to qualify for. England have a great record under Gareth Southgate during the qualifying round for major tournaments, having lost just one of 27 such games. The three lions should hit the ground running against Italy.

Denmark v Finland
Thursday, March 23, 20:45 (GMT+1)
Betting tip: Denmark to win
Odds: 1.32 on Bet9ja
Denmark are comfortably better than Finland, but they might find this fixture a bit tougher than it should be as a result of injuries to several key players.
Games between these countries have rarely produced a lot of goals, with six of the last nine meetings between them featuring one goal or less.
However, the Danes still have enough quality to edge out this fixture.
