Former Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro named multiple factors that he believes contributed to Real Madrid's success in the Champions League.
Peseiro, 64, was once on the books of Los Blancos as an assistant manager under the tutelage of Carlos Queiroz. He knows first-hand the inner workings of the club, and following Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Dortmund to lift their 15th UCL title, Peseiro, like many in the global football community, lauded their achievements.

“Ancelotti has won five Champions Leagues, and the key lies in the locker room,” Peseiro said. “We cannot say that Madrid has the best squad; the truth is that it is in how they manage, how the children and players see it, they follow it.
“It's the mystique and the order that it has; it's a fantastic game idea. Ancelotti is a guy who likes to win, who builds teams to win, he has motivation, responsibility; he has the capabilities of a great coach.”
In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti attributed their success to the unity in the dressing room and the winning culture at Real Madrid; Peserio echoed both points in his assessment.

“There are no teams that win because they have fantastic coaches or good players, they win because they have a strong investment system, a structure that motivates and gives credibility,” Peseiro added.
“Madrid has this culture where some leave and others arrive. Important players are leaving, and it is also impressive that Toni Kroos is leaving. He is a player who still has two or three more seasons. Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have left, but Madrid continues.
“They are going to look for Bellingham, they are going to look for Vinicius, they are going to look for Endryck, Mbappé could arrive and he is always looking for the best players in the world with criteria.

“The team has played with a thousand solutions. With the same players with the ability to play in various positions and have shown that the team is more important than everything. Vinicius, Bellingham, Rodrygo, Valverde, but you can see that Madrid is where everyone understands each other and makes a great team. The figures did not win, the team won.”
