According to our reliable sources at Kitende, Mulindwa had his eyes on Isabirye after his stunning performance from an 8-1 loss in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final in the 2020/21 season to a 3-1 victory that denied the Venoms a double last season.
The victory involved youngsters like Reagan Kalyoowa who was completing his secondary education.
“Doctor wanted to sign Isabirye but the coach refused because he said that he had an unfinished business with BUL,” our source tipped this writer in December.
“Mulindwa was aware that Robertinho was leaving and had accepted the offer from Simba but before everything was concluded, the Brazillian had proposed Isabirye to take over. He had admired his style,” the source who preferred anonymity added.
Pulse Sports understands that Isabirye was supposed to move in the January window together with Karim Ndugwa but the coach preferred not to rush.
The deal is expected to be sealed on Sunday, a day after BUL replay SC Villa in a Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 before the unveiling on Monday.
Isabirye's first game will be against Wakiso Giants In Uganda Cup on Tuesday 14th next week.
