Uganda's oldest football side Express FC will have a Women's football side for the first time in the club's 66-year existence.

Club chairman Suubi Kiwanuka revealed that creating the Express Women football club was down to promote Women's football but also to meet the FUFA, CAF, and FIFA regulations where every club is required to have a women's team.
"I'm excited about the Express Women's football team because it is an opportunity for the club to venture into something it has wanted for a long time," Sssubi Kiwanuka told club media.
"We are following the FUFA, CAF, and FIFA regulations; so our fans should be excited because this will be handled well and with the support it deserves as we aim to promote Women's football."
Express Women FC becomes the second female side to be owned by a Uganda Premier League side after Maroons who own She Maroons.
The others KCCA FC and Vipers have only partnered with Kampala Queens and Wakiso Hills Women's sides to meet the CAF regulations for teams participating in the CAF interclub competitions.
