The fans or anybody can say whatever they want, but I’m still number one in Uganda,” Ssimbwa told off immediately after Kitara brushed Police aside to a 1-0 win that restored them back to the top of the FUFA Big League table but promised the rest that;
“I’ll not fail this task because I came ready for it and know that we shall accomplish it.
Mixed results
Under Ssimbwa, Kitara has endured a mixed campaign, winning and failing to almost at the same rate.
They were recently bundled out of the Uganda Cup by their fellow division-mate Calvary before suffering a 2-1 league defeat to the same side, both within one week.
They, however, bounced back to the 1-0 victory on Friday to rise again with seven games left.
“I expected a tough battle because Police is a very good team, but I thank God we won. We worked as a team to win the game,” Ssimbwa said of their win.
