Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming Under-14 Futsal Championship, set to kick off on May 16th, 2023.
Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming Under-14 Futsal Championship, set to kick off on May 16th, 2023.
The organisation has confirmed the teams participating in the boy's and girls' championships, with only four teams each.
The boys' championship will feature Edgars Youth Academy, Edgars Futsal Club, Junub Academy, and Soccer For Life.
In contrast, the girls' championship will include Kick It Soccer Academy, Habonomu Quality Academy, Aztek Academy, and KJT.
The U14 Championship will be played across three windows, with the first window starting on May 16th. Each team will play nine games in the first window, with 27 matches played across three windows.
The overall champion will be declared in December. This U14 Championship is a crucial project organised by FAU to help form a strong U18 national team representing Uganda in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The FAU's initiative to establish a youth development program is commendable. It will provide an excellent platform for young talents to showcase their skills and pave the way for their bright future in the sport.
