The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have joined hands to unveil an exciting initiative to boost futsal development in the country.
A comprehensive coaching course designed explicitly for FUFA Futsal Beginners Coaches is scheduled from June 26th to June 30th, 2023.
The five-day training program will be held at the state-of-the-art FUFA SIG Offices in Mengo and will cover all aspects of the dynamic game of futsal.
Coaches attending the course can expect an intensive 40-hour curriculum that combines theory and practical sessions with a daily schedule of 8 hours.
FAU chairman, Hamza Jjunju, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming course during an official announcement on Tuesday evening.
He emphasized the importance of flair and skill in executing futsal's tactical aspects, highlighting the need to equip coaches with the knowledge and expertise to teach the game to aspiring futsal players effectively.
"The journey to becoming an outstanding futsal coach begins with attaining the FUFA Futsal Beginners Coaching certificate. However, the path to becoming a top-notch futsal coach continues. It continues with different levels and accomplishments," Hamzah explained.
With a strong focus on nurturing many competent futsal coaches, FAU and FUFA aspire to illuminate the game's future in Uganda.
Furthermore, by ensuring a robust network of skilled educators, they aim to foster a thriving futsal community within the country.
This coaching course marks the second major initiative organized by FAU, following the successful 2022 FIFA MA Futsal Referees course.
The referee training brought together 17 elite futsal referees, including two remarkable female referees, Dorcus Namukisa and Rashida Adams.
To facilitate the seamless execution of the program, the deadline for registration and payment has been set for June 15th.
The collaboration between FAU and FUFA reflects a unified commitment to enhancing the stature of futsal in Uganda.
By empowering coaches with the necessary skills and knowledge, this groundbreaking initiative aims to lay a solid foundation for the growth and success of futsal across the country.
