Talanta came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Nairobi City Stars on Tuesday.

FC Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta has hailed his side for taking advantage of their “moments” as his side forced a comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Nairobi City Stars in a match played at the Kasarani Annex on Tuesday afternoon.

Stars were leading by two goals scored by Kevin Etemesi before Talanta fought back through goals by Alex Luganji from the penalty spot and December Kaikah in the 90th minute.

Talanta were poor for large spells of the first 60 minutes, but they looked the better side in the last 30 minutes and deservedly got their draw.

“If you observe the world of football, a team could be leading by 3-0  and end up 3-3 or 4-3 down,” he said, “City Stars got their moments and took them and they used them well but when we got our moments, we took them as well,” he added.

Kenyatta also hailed the impact of his younger players, including December Kaikah who was impressive and scored the second goal in the 90th minute to force a draw.

The former AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars goalkeeper say the use of young players will enable the side to be stronger in the future.

“I gave these players morale because you need to inject confidence in them when possible. You saw players like Dece (December Kaikah) who, even though he came from Division One when we signed him, as well as players like most of my entire defense. The point is to give them as many minutes as possible to help them gain experience in future matches.”

Talanta will face Ulinzi Stars on Saturday as they hope to finish as high as 11th. They are currently 13th on 26 points.
