Harmony Chidi Steals the Show

The Flamingo's prolific striker, Harmony Chidi, proved unstoppable; she followed her impressive six-goal performance against Central African Republic, Chidi by bagging a hat-trick against Burkina Faso in front of the home crowd at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Chidi wasted no time, capitalizing on a defensive error to put the Flamingos ahead in the 11th minute.

Peace Effiong added to the lead in the 34th minute, showcasing her determination despite facing challenges.

The second half saw the Flamingos maintain control; while Burkina Faso's goalkeeper, Baguian, made some impressive saves, Nigeria's offensive power ultimately prevailed.

Taiwo Afolabi's thunderous volley rattled the crossbar, but Chidi was quick to react, nodding the rebound into the net.

Substitute Ramota Kareem joined the scoring party in the 84th minute, followed by Chidi's well-placed dipping shot for her hat-trick two minutes later.

Effiong capped off the dominant performance with a goal in the dying moments, securing a comprehensive 6-0 victory.

This win secured a 7-1 aggregate victory for Nigeria (the first leg ended 1-1) and a place in the final qualifying round.

The Flamingos, poised to continue their quest for a spot in the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup finals, now await the winner of the Senegal/Liberia fixture. The first leg is scheduled for June 8th.
