Young Africans are set to part ways with goal machine Fiston Mayele after the striker after two seasons together.

The forward has agreed personal terms with Egyptian money bags Pyramids FC; Pulse Sports understands both clubs have also reportedly agreed on a transfer fee in the region of $1.2M (about Shs4.3B).

This will make it one of the most expensive transfers in Young Africans' history.

Pyramids FC made headlines in 2018 when owner Turki Al-Sheikh bought the club's status, investing heavily as he attracted top players, including Uganda Cranes winger Abdul Lumala.

The side has finished as runners-up in the Egyptian Premier League for two straight seasons (2021/22 and 2022/23).

Mayele has been in top form since joining the Jangweni-based side in 2020, scoring over 50 goals in the two seasons he has featured in.

During the two seasons, 'Tiimu ya Wananichi' has dominated Tanzanian football, winning back-to-back domestic trebles.

Including reaching their maiden CAF Confederation Cup final, which they lost on the away goals rule to Algeria's USM Alger.

The 'predator' top scored in the continental competition with seven goals, adding a further 17 on the domestic front, finishing as joint top scorer with Simba SC's Saido Ntibazonkiza.

It remains to be seen how the 29-time Tanzanian league champions plan to manage Mayele's departure with rivals Simba having reinforced ahead of the new season.

Experienced players like Khalid Aucho, one of the top players last season, will be expected to help lead the side in the midfield alongside Yahaya Mudathir, Aboubaker' Sureboy' Salum and goalkeeper Djigui Diarra.

Head coach Angel Miguel Gamondi will be expected to guide the side to the CAF Champions League group stages.
