Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier's prime Nairobi property faces auction, sparking speculation over financial or personal challenges.

A residential property belonging to the long-serving chairman of FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia, Ambrose Dickson Otieno Rachier, has been listed for public auction.

The announcement was made through a notice by Mbuli Auctioneers published in one of the local dailies, revealing the planned sale of the prime property located in Nairobi County.

The five-storey residential building, identified as Abono Green Flat, is situated in the neighborhood of Winners Chapel along Road C, off Likoni Road.

The property is within 700 meters of Mombasa Road and near Salama Court, a strategic location for residential purposes.

It boasts several features including parking bays, one and four-bedroom units, landing lobbies, and access via a motorable earth road.

"Under instructions from our principals, the chargees, in the exercise of their statutory power of sale, we shall sell by Public Auction on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11.00 am in our offices on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, the under-mentioned properties and all the improvements erected thereon," read part of the notice as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.

The property, registered under L.R. NO. 209/10234 (1. R 55917), is held on a leasehold interest.

According to the auctioneers, the plot has a rectangular shape with boundaries marked by building lines.

Basic amenities such as electricity, water, and sewer services are connected to the premises.

"The property is situated in the neighborhood of Winners Chapel, Within Road C off Likoni Road in Nairobi County. It lies next to Salama Court, about 200 meters South of Winners Chapel, 300 meters from Likoni Road, and approximately 700 meters from Mombasa Road," the notice further stated.

The auctioneers also highlighted the process for prospective buyers, urging them to verify the property’s details in person without involving intermediaries.

"Interested bidders are requested to obtain bid numbers by paying Ksh500,000.00 refundable deposit fee before the auction dates," they added.

The reason behind the auction of the property remains unclear, as no information was provided regarding the circumstances leading to the sale.

Speculation over financial matters has arisen given the timing of the auction, but neither Rachier nor his representatives have commented on the development.

Ambrose Rachier, who has been at the helm of Gor Mahia since 2008, is a seasoned legal professional and a prominent figure in Kenyan football administration.

His tenure has been marked by both successes on the pitch and challenges off it, with the club experiencing financial hurdles in recent years.

The property in question, located in a prime area close to major roads and social amenities, is expected to attract significant interest from potential buyers.

The auction, scheduled for mid-December, will take place at the auctioneer’s offices on Kimathi Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Mbuli Auctioneers emphasized the importance of due diligence for all interested parties.

"We encourage all bidders to view and verify all the details of the property by themselves to avoid discrepancies," the notice advised.
