Babu has revealed the aspect about his star-studded squad that could make the likes of AFC Leopards sweat in the race for the 2023/2024 FKF Cup.
Kenya Police coach Salim Babu has expressed satisfaction with his team's attitude following their dominant 4-0 victory over Sofapaka, securing their spot in the semi-finals of the FKF Cup.
The Law Enforcers showcased their prowess on Saturday, with goals from David Okoth and Marvine Nabwire complementing a brace by former Gor Mahia midfielder Sammy Onyango.
Under Babu's guidance, Kenya Police has exhibited remarkable form throughout the year, positioning themselves as contenders for continental football aspirations.
Speaking to the media post-match, Babu expressed pride in his team's dedication to achieving their targets. "I am happy with how they are playing. They are competing healthily for places and everyone is scoring goals," he remarked.
Babu credited their solid game plan to effective training sessions and a high morale within the team. "We had a good game plan. We have been training well and the morale in camp is high because we want to win this cup as a shortcut to get continental football," he explained.
Despite the impressive display of fringe players, including former Kenyan international Francis Kahata, Babu emphasized the importance of maintaining team balance and selecting players based on merit. "It does not give me a selection headache because you do not want to disrupt the balance of the team," he affirmed.
David Okoth's standout performance earned him the man of the match accolade, with Babu commending his improvement and dedication. "David has improved so much in the last six games and Samuel Onyango is also coming up well," he noted, attributing their success to hard work rather than luck.
As Kenya Police gears up for the semi-finals, Babu is focused on maintaining their momentum amidst upcoming league games against Kakamega Homeboyz, City Stars, and AFC Leopards. With their eyes set on continued success, Babu and his team remain determined to achieve their ultimate goal of securing continental football glory.
