FKF President Nick Mwendwa failed to appear before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on Thursday to answer questions about football management.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has given reasons why it failed to appear before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare to address concerns about the management of football and resources in Kenya.
The Senate had summoned FKF president Nick Mwendwa to testify on November 14, 2023, in response to a petition filed by County Football Associations regarding alleged mismanagement of football in the country.

FOOTBALL Trio axed from Harambee Stars traveling squad for World Cup qualifiers against Gabon, Seychelles
Harambee Stars' 23-man traveling squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will depart on Wednesday morning for Libreville ahead of crucial matches against Gabon and Seychelles.
However, the federation has cited scheduling conflicts related to the national teams' involvement in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers as the primary reason for their non-appearance.
In a letter addressed to the Senate, FKF explained their predicament and proposed an alternative meeting date between November 24, 2023, and November 25, 2023, to allow for more comprehensive discussions.
"Football Kenya Federation is in receipt of your letter dated November 8, 2023, inviting the federation for a meeting on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, to appraise the Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on the progress of the dialogue between County Football Associations and the federation. However, regrettably, we wish to inform you that the federation faces a scheduling conflict, as both the Kenya Men's and Women's national teams are actively participating in their World Cup qualifiers from November 11, 2023, to November 22, 2023," part of the letter reads.

Harambee Stars coach has explained why he called back Eric Johana to the squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles after a long absence.
Understanding the importance of these national teams' engagements and the issues at hand, FKF requested the Senate Standing Committee to consider rescheduling the meeting to a later date.
"We believe that rescheduling the meeting to a later date will not only ensure the active participation of the Football Kenya Federation but also allow for a more comprehensive and focused engagement.
We appreciate your consideration of this request and assure you of our commitment to engaging in a meaningful dialogue on the matters raised," the letter adds in part.
