The Uganda international finally opened up on the reason his spell in South Africa did not end the way he would have ideally wanted.
Former Gor Mahia left back Godfrey Walusimbi has finally opened up on the reason his spell in South Africa for Soweto Derby giants Kaizer Chiefs was short-lived.
Walusimbi spent four years at Gor Mahia before joining Chiefs in 2018, where he made 10 appearances in the Premier Soccer League for a season, before his contract was unceremoniously terminated.

FOOTBALL Gor Mahia duo of Benson Omala & Rooney Onyango reportedly on radar of top European team
Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has revealed that Gor Mahia players Benson Omala and Rooney Onyango could soon join a European team following his recommendation
“That was an unexpected decision from the club and to me,” Walusimbi told Nation.
“They made a decision tonight with the closure of the transfer date. They did not inform me earlier and so they made their decision without informing me which I saw that it was not appropriate.
“I think when you want to loan (out) a player, you have to inform him and then the team makes a decision accordingly but they did not inform me then loaned me.
“But before that happened, they had put (me) in a situation whereby them showing me that maybe I am less important to the club, like two to three games and that situation hurt me.
“Journalists would ask me ‘What happened to you? Are you injured? What, what?’ Such questions can disturb your mind.
“After that, the club approached me and tell me such things. I did not welcome the deal just because it was a swap deal. When you are swapping something, it means you want the best and you are exchanging with what you don’t want, that was the issue.
“The club which was doing the swap pretended they were interested in me and yet I was ignored and they could not inform me in particular that they were interested in me.That is why I had to ignore that deal. I rejected it.
“We came to an agreement to terminate the contract, and that is what happened.”

FOOTBALL McKinstry commends Gor Mahia trio after World Cup qualifiers exploits
The Gor Mahia coach has praised players' World Cup qualifier performances as he looks ahead to the league clash against Muhoroni.
Walusimbi criticised the club for failing to explain to him why they no longer needed his services in a clear and concise manner.
“Sometimes when you are in the starting eleven as a player and games have been going on well, you were performing.
“You may be losing, but convincingly and you happen to be out, they put you out of the first eleven and the coach is not talking to you that, this and this we are applying, or this and this is the system, that is why we are doing this.
“I am not saying that you are not supposed to be in or you are not supposed to get explanations from the coach but a good manager has to tell you that you are out because of this and this and we are taking this and that approach, so that you can get moving.”
