Odhiambo, who was a key part of the Harambee Stars side that took part in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, has opened up on why he decided to come out of retirement by signing for Murang'a Seal.
Former Harambee Stars midfielder Dennis Odhiambo has revealed the reason he decided to come out of retirement after starting his second game for Murang’a Seal during their 1-0 loss to AFC Leopards on Sunday.
Odhiambo has started each of the last two games for Seals since his arrival on January 19th, having been signed to add experience to the side as they seek to finish as high as they can in their debut FKFPL season.
The 33-capped former Kenyan international who represented the side at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations has given a bullish response to why he opted to return to the game.

“No one told me to start playing football when I started it, so I did not need anyone to tell me to come back,” Odhiambo said.
"It was my decision and I am the one who decided to come back. I was not expecting anyone to write to me, asking me to return to football. I love the game.
“I love football. Football has brought me to where I am. No one was asking me questions when I had left the game but upon returning, people are asking me many questions.”
Odhiambo, 38, is well aware of the fact that his body may not be where it once was when he was plying his trade in South Africa, but he is trying to see if his body can still allow him to play at a high level.

Odhiambo featured for 90 minutes during their loss to AFC Leopards, and has assessed his own performance.
“I was focused on giving a good performance because that is my job.I think it was good. We just did not maximize our chances.”
Odhiambo has agreed with his coach Abdallah Juma on their desire to correct their woeful form and help the side finish as high as possible in the league.
